Matt brings over two decades of experience leading MedTech companies through dynamic phases of innovation and scale with multiple successful exits. He has delivered more than $1.3 billion in realized shareholder value, combining deep technical expertise with strategic leadership across diagnostics, devices, and therapeutics in both product and service businesses. His track record includes commercializing new products, scaling global product portfolios, building AI-enabled platforms, and guiding multiple startups through fundraising and high-value transactions.
Matt currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Brainscope, an AI enabled qEEG platform focused on brain health. Prior to joining Brainscope, Matt was President of Invio Automation, a global life science focused process automation provider. Prior to Invio he was Vice President and General Manager of Cerevention, a neuro start-up that developed and commercialized platforms to diagnose and treat hemorrhagic stroke and other diseases of the central nervous system. Prior to that he held executive roles in Rebiotix (microbiome therapeutics, acquired), Cirle (ophthalmology, acquired), and American Medical Systems (urology, oncology, ENT, acquired).
Matt received his eMBA from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska. He resides in Minnesota with his wife, Michele, has three grown children, and is an avid pilot, mountain biker, and skier.

Brian Craig
Founder and CEO
ConvergAscent (Medical Device Incubator)
Brian Craig started his career as an entrepreneur creating a company focused on clinical research. This eventually led him to Medtronic where he managed and implemented global clinical trials for regulatory approval. He then went to the field to start the early commercialization of cardiac resynchronization therapy which was one of the fastest medical device therapies to reach a billion (US$) in global sales.
After obtaining his MBA, Brian had a variety of marketing and strategy roles in upstream marketing, downstream marketing, portfolio management, and strategic planning at Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure Business. He then went to ev3 which was later acquired by Covidien and contributed to the turnaround of the peripheral business as the Global Franchise Director for Plaque Excision. He then moved to Singapore to serve as the VP of Marketing for Emerging Markets at Covidien where he established a dedicated product portfolio for developing markets and expanded the organization’s marketing capabilities.
When he returned to the US, Brian was the VP of Strategy, Portfolio Management, and Business Development for Medtronic’s Surgical Innovations Business where he defined the overall strategic direction for the business, guided the organic investment portfolio, managed the governance structures, and diversified growth through inorganic investments. Brian left Medtronic in 2017 to focus on early-stage medical technology development. He has founded five companies focused on drug delivery, cardiac, and endoscopy applications.

Frank holds a Master of Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota. He is known for his dedication to fostering innovation and his deep connections within the medtech community.

Kevin Kelley

Kevin has served as CEO and CFO of medtech and device companies at exactly the stage Avio’s clients are navigating — from seed capital through commercial launch, regulatory pathway, and growth-stage funding. He co-founded and led Concure Oncology through a full strategic pivot, product redesign, and $9M capital raise, having earlier established the company as CFO and secured its initial $2M seed round. Earlier in his career he led the commercial turnaround and US market entry of a cleantech device manufacturer, securing $5M in growth capital and a Fortune 100 acquisition offer within 18 months.
Kevin began his career as a CPA at KPMG and the Financial Accounting Standards Board and holds dual degrees in Finance and Accounting, with executive certificates from MIT Sloan and MIT CSAIL in digital business strategy and AI.
He brings to the Navigator Network direct operating experience across capital raising, financial infrastructure, regulatory navigation, and commercial launch — in companies that were building exactly what Avio’s clients are building now.

Joseph Saladino
CEO

Joseph has 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, spanning from General Management to leadership roles in Global Commercialization, Sales, Marketing, and Research and Development. As co-founder and CEO of Marrow Access Technologies, he led the company through fundraising, product development, commercialization, and growth.
Most of Joseph’s career has been spent at Medtronic Cardiovascular and Spinal divisions, where he led Global Commercialization for the Atrial Fibrillation business and served as Segment Leader and GM of Enabling and Advanced Spinal Technologies. Previously, he was Vice President of Marketing at spinal implant start-up Zyga, led Knee and Hip Product Development for Arthrex, and worked as a product development engineer at Zimmer and Ortho Development Corporation.
He’s been awarded 17 US patents for orthopedic devices and has led the commercial launch of more than 45 medical devices. He co-developed the Introworks Launch Navigation Program for excellence in medical device launch, and he’s spoken on start-up strategy and global commercial launch at events for Medical Alley, Sales and Marketing Masterminds Group, and MedTech Bridge. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Texas.
